Things You'll Need:
- invitations
- recipe cards and a recipe box
- kitchen items for decoration
- cooking ingredients for decoration
- spices
-
Step 1
Obtain a list of guests provided by the bride. When you send out the invitations, include a blank recipe card for the guest to fill out and bring to the shower. Give instructions on what exactly you expect from your guests. Some showers require that each guest bring a recipe to share. Or you can ask that the recipe go along with your gift somehow (i.e., A cookie recipe to match the cookie sheets). You can assign certain types of food (desserts, main courses, appetizers, etc.) or recipes designed for two.
-
Step 2
Plan your shower food to include recipes for all the yummy eats found in the recipe box that you'll give the bride at the end of the shower.
-
Step 3
Decorate for your shower by using common cooking ingredients, such as salt, sugar, flour, spices, or easy foods that are non-perishable such as spaghetti. You can also use items such as hot pads, aprons, cooling racks and cookie sheets as decorations.
-
Step 4
Play a game called "Guess the Spices" where you have 8 to 10 different spices in unlabeled bowls and each guest tries to identify the most spices.
-
Step 5
Give the bride her recipe box with all of her new recipes which is a great start to her new life.
