Things You'll Need:
- Toothpaste
- Foaming face cleansing pads
- Vaseline
- Wash cloth or towel
- Hair dye removal cream (optional)
- Distilled white vinegar
-
Step 1
Taking some toothpaste and rubbing it on the skin, whether it be your scalp, neck, or ears that are dyed, is a common trick for removing hair dye. Make sure to use the regular kind and not the gel. Scrub it in and rinse it out.
-
Step 2
Use distilled white vinegar to remove hair dye. Soak a towel with the vinegar and rub it into your scalp. There's no need to rub too hard. It should help take some of the dye out.
-
Step 3
Skin cleansing pads can be used as well if the other options aren't doing it for you. Most brands sell acne fighting pads that foam when wet. Use a couple on the dyed area.
-
Step 4
If none of these work for you, ask your stylist for a salon product specifically used to remove hair dye. These may be expensive, but they will probably work better for stubborn stains.
-
Step 5
Rub petroleum jelly around your scalp and ears before you dye your hair to prevent from having to go through the same fiasco all over again. It'll keep the dye off your skin.

on 4/28/2009 I used the Orange Goop cleaner on my forehead and it worked pretty well! Just apply a small amount and rub it in, then wash with water.
