How to Knit an Andalusian Stitch

This stitch requires a knowledge of how to do a knit and a purl stitch and creates a beautiful texture for any piece.

Things You'll Need

• Yarn
• Knitting needles

Instructions

1. Choose the yarn you want to work with and needles that match the weight of your yarn (see yarn packaging for needle size suggestions).

2. Cast on your stitches in multiples of two in your preferred method of casting on. Example: 12 x 2 = 24 stitches.

3. Row 1: (right side) Knit to the end of the rowRow 2: Purl to the end of the rowRow 3: Knit 1, Purl 1, repeat these 2 stitches to the end of the rowRow 4: Purl to the end of the row

4. Repeat these four rows until your piece reaches desired length.

5. Bind off, preferably using the basic bind-off.
