-
1
Using your measuring tape begin to take the measurements of the concrete walls you wish to put siding over. Begin measuring the height of the wall then measure across making a line every sixteen inches.
-
2
Buy your weather treated firring backing in the height that you need and count up the number of lines that you need because that is how many pieces of firring backing that you will need.
-
-
3
Place the firring backing at the marks you made and secure them in place with the concrete screws beginning by placing one at the top and one at the bottom then adding one for every six inches. Continue installing the firring backing until all the concrete that you want covered with siding has firring backing on it.
-
4
Nail your pieces of weather treated wood onto the firring backing adding nails along the height of the wood as you did with the firring backing.
-
5
Unravel the insect screen and fold the top of the screen over the top of the wood and nail into place. Continue to nail the screen to the weather treated wood until completely covered and the bottom edge of the screen folded under the wood and nailed to secure it.
-
6
Install the siding with the vinyl siding screws directly on top of the wood according to the normal manufacturer's instructions.
