How to Wash a Human Hair Doll Wig

One of the most appealing features of a doll is the hair. Some have painted hair, some have synthetic hair and some have true human hair. All are cared for in different ways, and some are more high maintenance than others. Human hair doll wigs can not only be washed, but they can be styled too! A well cared for human hair doll wig will last a very long time and help your doll keep its value.

Things You'll Need

• Doll
• Human hair doll wig
• Shampoo
• Conditioner
• Sink
• Water source
• Large bowl
• Hairdryer
• Styling tools

Instructions

1. Remove any pins or materials that keep your human hair doll wig in place. Carefully place these materials somewhere that you will remember where they are. A plastic baggie works well.

2. Place the wig in a large bowl filled with warm water, and allow to soak for a few minutes.

3. Add a drop of shampoo to the wig, and gently wash to remove any loose dirt or dust particles.

4. Rinse well under your sink faucet, until all of the shampoo is removed.

5. Apply the conditioner to the wig and allow it to sit for several minutes.

6. Remove the conditioner by once again rinsing under the faucet.

7. Allow your wig to air-dry, or if you may dry it with a hairdryer and style as desired.

8. Place the human hair wig back on your doll's head when dry, and reattach the pins or holding materials.

Tips & Warnings

• If you have a doll that has natural human hair that does not detach, follow the same instructions for hair washing, but be careful to not wet the rest of the doll!

• When using any kind of heated element on the doll's wig, use caution so as to not burn the hair.
