    • 1

Stretch and warm up your legs, especially the knees and glutes. Run or bounce in place for 30 seconds and just generally get your body loosened up.

    • 2

Do your regular jumping jacks. Do a set of 10 using the four part count as one. For example, you would say "one, two, three, one; one, two, three, two" to count as two jumping jacks.

    • 3

Do the basic squat ten times. The basic squat consists of first having your feet shoulder-width apart. While keeping your back straight, lower your glutes to the level of your knees while at the same time keeping your feet in place. Stick your hands straight out in front of you and hold this position for 1 beat and then stand up.

    • 4

Combine both exercises now that you have warmed your body up to each of them. This time you would slow down your jumping jack count a half-beat. When you reach the end of the four-count, you would immediately drop into squat position and hold for four counts. For example, you would count "one, two, three" and then when you are about to say "one" you squat. When you squat, count to four and then do the next set of jumping jacks into squats. Do this 10 times.

Tips & Warnings

  • To ease the challenge, instead of holding the squat position for four counts, hold it for two and then stand up for two before doing the next set of jumping jacks into squats.

  • Always consult your physician before performing any new strenuous exercise.
