How to Hike Living in NYC

Living in New York City is hardly a nature lover's paradise. However, there are places to hike in and around New York City that are an adventure lover's paradise. Here are some easy ways to hike in and around the Big Apple.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Spend a day exploring Central Park. There are multiple trails that range from simple to quite challenging. If you are really adventurous, wait until a snowy day to go for a hike.

  2. Step 2

    Take a train to New Jersey and visit some of the local parks. There are many trails less than an hour away from NYC that are quite challenging. There is no need to spend the night, these are simple day trips.

  3. Step 3

    Rent a car for the day and drive to the more rural parts of New York. There are glorious trails just a mere hour outside of New York City.

  4. Step 4

    As always, research online for opportunities. There are group hiking trips happening all the time that would love to have some new faces.
