Things You'll Need:
- A small broiling tray
- One-half cup of diced mushrooms
- One-half cup of chopped onions
- A large mixing bowl
- One-half cup of regular oatmeal (not quick cooking oatmeal) that’s been ground to a fine powder in the blender
- One cup of cooked spinach
- One cup of crumbled soy protein
- Three tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- One egg
- Black pepper to taste
- Three tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
- Baking pan
- Four slices of provolone cheese (optional)
- Fat-free Italian salad dressing (optional)

Step 1
Put extra-virgin olive oil in a skillet and sauté mushrooms and onions. Spoon mushrooms, onions and olive oil into a large bowl and let cool.

Add ground oatmeal, spinach, soy protein, Parmesan cheese, egg and black pepper and mix thoroughly.

Divide mixture into four portions and shape into burgers.

Step 4
Place burgers on baking tray and broil for about fifteen minutes or until done, placing a slice of provolone cheese on each burger the last two minutes.

Spoon a little fat-free salad dressing over each burger if desired and serve.There are approximately eleven grams of carbohydrates in each burger.
