1. Fertility can mean many things in many contexts. Fertility spells are some of the oldest spells we know of, and the spells all connect the idea of fertility to both childbearing and the harvest. At the spring festival of Beltane, the fertility of the people and the fertility of the crops were linked completely, and lovers would meet in the fields to assure themselves of a plentiful crop.In modern times we no longer live in an agrarian culture, but the connection between the growth of plants and the growth of our children still exists, and so we will take advantage of that magickal link using acorns, symbolizing the fertilized seed of life. This spell is meant to be done by the mother-to-be, but both of the prospective parents should carry the resulting charms.

2. When the Moon is waxing, which means when it is going from new to full, assemble your ingredients in a location where you will not be disturbed. Place the candle in its holder, fill the bowl with the water, and clear your mind.

3. Breathe deeply and let yourself relax. Light the candle and pick up the acorns in your right hand. Hold out your left hand toward the candle. Visualize the light from the green candle extending from the flame into your left hand and passing down through your arm into your belly. See the light cluster around your womb, filling it and warming it, until you can feel it glowing with power and life.

4. With a firm and even voice, chant:"I call upon you, oh spirits of fire. Come unto me and grant my will. Fill my womb with your strength and grace my magick with your hunger. As you grow, so let my child grow."Let the energy flow up from your womb into your right arm and into the acorns held in your right hand. Let the light fill the acorns and your hand until they pulse with power.

5. Chant:"Oh spirits of flame, meet your natural companion in water and bring forth life and birth!"Drop the acorns into the water. Visualize the light within them changing to include the color blue as they soak in the water.

6. Chant:"Spirits of water and fire, duly called and bound, instill this seed with your life and growth. As you burst forth, let my womb burst forth with health. As you grow and swell, let my belly grow and swell with joy. And as your power gives the world its life, let your power give life to my child!"Take the acorns out of the water and smear some of the hot wax from the candle all over them.

7. As you smear the wax onto the acorns and let it dry, chant:"With the powers of fire and water, through the air of my words and the earth of my body, my spell is made and my will is done. So mote it be!"Put the acorns in the pouches, and have both the prospective parents carry the fertility charms in their pocket or as deep and close to their genitals as possible.Good luck and bright blessings to your children!
