How to Use Lemon Juice to Help Clear Acne

With more and more acne medications hitting the market, some people have begun paying exuberant amounts of money to treat their acne. With some medications costing hundreds of dollars per month, these treatments can be out of many people's price range. For only pennies a day people can make their own acne clearing solution from the comfort of their own home. Lemons have been used for their healthy qualities for years, and now it is known that they can also help clear up acne.

• Lemons
• Small bowl
• Cotton balls
• Anti-bacterial soap

Use Lemon Juice to Help Clear Acne

1. Wash your face with anti-bacterial soap before going to bed to ensure it is completely clean.
2. Squeeze 1 teaspoon of lemon juice into your small bowl. You may need to dilute the liquid if it burns your skin when applied.
3. Soak up some of the lemon juice with a cotton ball. Apply the liquid to your face. If the juice burns your face, dilute it with a little bit of water. Dab the final solution (diluted or not) to your face, making sure to cover the pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads.
4. Leave the juice on your face overnight. When you wake up in the morning, rinse your face off. Apply the solution once again before going out for the day. It should be applied under makeup for women. The solution may be too strong for you to leave on, even after diluting it. If this is the case, wash the juice off with cold water after 10 minutes.
5. Make a lemon juice solution to drink for internal cleansing. This will help your acne as well. Accomplish this by squeezing a full lemon into a bottle or glass (bottle preferably). Add 16 oz. of water to the lemon juice and drink the solution throughout the day.
