Tips & Warnings
Go online, download, and print product descriptions and price comparisons so that you can lay them out, review them, and complete your charts.
If you do not have access to a computer, go to a REPUTABLE retail store that specializes in electronics sales. If they have brochures or information available, get several from them.
If a retail store does not have brochures or information, ask them if they will give you the address of different manufacturers who make high-speed digital cameras. Once you have gotten this information, write to the individual companies, and ask them to send you information on their product.
• Remember, more expensive isn’t always better, nor does the fact that a high-speed digital camera is cheaper mean it is an inferior product. Do not go by price alone.
It will be harder for you to concentrate with a salesperson hovering near you, trying to make the sale that will bring him or her the most commission. If at all possible, do your comparing at home or at a location other than the retail store.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you believe that a product is being misrepresented, or that there is a incidence of blatant false advertising, bring it to the store manager’s attention, or inform the company itself of what you have seen.
