Step 1
Look for an outbreak of hives. These will appear as pale, red swellings that occur in gropus. These swellings will likely burn and sting.

Look for hives to appear after the skin has been exposed to cold temperatures and when the skin is warmed after the exposure.

The skin will begin to swell and the hives will start to itch within minutes after the skin is warmed.
