How to Repair a Hole in a Pool

With everything from locating the leak to fixing the flow of water from coming out, as long as you have the basic facts covered; getting your hole fixed in your pool can be an easy task.

Things You'll Need

• Underwater Vinyl Patching kit.
• Goggles.
• Stethoscope.

Instructions

How to repair a hole in a pool.

1. If you have already located the hole in your pool, proceed to step number five; otherwise proceed to step number two.

2. Check the outside perimeter of the pool area for leaks that will give you a clue as to where the leak may be located at.

3. Place your goggles on and place the stethoscope in your ears and get in the pool.

4. Starting at one end, slowly move up and down against the edge of the pool with the stethoscope in your ears and the round piece of the stethoscope against the pool, search for any sound of rising water or bubbles until you find the hole.

5. Locate the hole from the inside of the pool and prepare the underwater vinyl repair kit for adhering to the pool.

6. Place the adhesive on one side of the vinyl replacement piece.

7. Carefully place the vinyl replacement piece on the inside of the pool and hold for one minute.

8. Avoid swimming in the pool or irritating the area for 24 hours.

• You can purchase a stethoscope at any mass retailer or drug store.

• Having a partner to assist you with this project would be helpful.

• Make sure your goggles air tight so that water does not flow into your eyes.

• Be careful when holding your breath under water that you are able to to do it safely.

• Keep children and all pool toys away from the pool area while you are working on repairing the hole.
