Cooking hush puppies are so delicious and go great with seafood. In my opinion, I could eat them with anything. Follow these simple steps to make them yourself, and avoid having to order out just to eat a few!
Is there anyone out there that does not like hush puppies? I could eat them with any meat, including chicken, salmon, or pork. Even if you do not like seafood, a few hush puppies with some tartar sauce, ketchup, or spicy sauce, like Texas Pete, is wonderful. And cooking them is so easy.
Step2
Add all of the ingredients listed above in a mixing bowl. If your mixture comes out a little too thick, then add water. However, you are looking for the same consistency as a thick pancake batter. Too thin, and you will not have a good, thick hush puppy.
Step3
Now, using a large metal spoon, drop the batter in the hot oil and let them fry until the outside is a crunchy brown. This should not take much time. Be sure to watch closely the first time you make the puppies so they do not overcook. Try and set the deep fryer to around 350 so the oil does not get too hot. Now, was that not easy? Enjoy!
