Wash your hair only every two to three days. This will preserve the natural oils in your hair that shampooing strips away. Take your fingers and massage your scalp in circular motions everyday, twice a day. Do this yourself, or you can have a partner do it.

Take a good multivitamin every day. The University of Maryland Medical Center notes that vitamin deficiencies can have an effect on the texture and condition of your hair. Eat a little food when you take your vitamin; sometimes taking a vitamin on an empty stomach can cause stomach upset.

Every day, take a prong-style hairbrush and massage your scalp with it in circular motions. This will get the blood circulating into your hair follicles. Then, take a boar-bristle hairbrush and brush your hair from root to tip for three to five minutes to distribute the natural oils of your hair throughout the entire hair shaft.

Use a heat-protectant spray if you use heated styling implements on your hair. Spray the hair to be styled about five minutes before styling and use a brush to distribute the spray throughout the hair. Heat styling without the protectant spray can dry and fry your hair.
