Do you have a blog hosted on Blogger? If so, you probably have a .blogspot web address. Chances are you've thought about having your own domain name, but you don't want to mess with changing your host or leaving all your traffic behind. This article will show you how to leave your blog exactly where it is, even with a new web address.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A blog hosted on Blogger.
  • A domain name.
  1. Step 1

Obtain a new domain name for your blog. There are any number of places where you can do that. Go Daddy is a popular one.

  2. Step 2

Log into your Blogger account, select the blog you want to work with, and click on 'Settings'.

  3. Step 3

Directly under the 'Settings' tab you'll see a variety of options. Choose 'Publishing'.

  4. Step 4

Under 'Advanced Settings' you will see a section called 'Your Domain'. Enter the new domain name you obtained in Step 1.

  5. Step 5

Once you've entered the new domain name, click on 'Save Settings' at the bottom of the page.

  6. Step 6

That's it! Now visitors who enter the old '.blogspot' domain name will be directed to the new one. And you can start publicizing your new domain name.
