How to buy a perfect house warming gift

it isn't too difficult to get the perfect gift for the person we care about and know so much about but often we are stumped. Here are a few gifts where you really can't go wrong.

1. Books. Someone gave me a book on Feng shui. Now even if you are not into it and you are new to feng shui, it is interesting. When first moving into a new home or apt, it's a creative and fun way to set things up, it's incentive to get things moving and I think, a great house warming gift because it is original.
2. A Plant. Who doesn't want or need a plant in their home. They bring charm, promote air and it is a sincere and sweet gesture. By the way, bamboo plants are for good fortune.
3. Tool box. This speaks for itself. There are always repairs to get done, so this is a great gift, practical and thoughtful.
4. If they have a back yard, why not a gardening set? Get a bucket with add some garden tools, gloves, bulbs, seeds, pruning shears and a watering can to help them start a garden of her very own.
5. Food basket. Fill it up with spices, pasta, olive oil, roasted peppers, a cook book. People have to eat and what better way to welcome to the neighborhood or to their home than with a few incentives to make a great home cooked meal?
6. Year round subscription to better homes and gardens or redbook. Why not? They will thank you year round for it.
7. If you can, take a few pictures and crafts and make a scrapbook for them. This gift is thougtful and uique. Go to your local craft store for ideas.
