How to Disable Windows Security Alerts in Vista

You can think of Windows security alerts as notifications from a security officer.

If you disable any Windows Vista Security Center features, you're bound to get bombarded by little popup balloons whenever you log onto your computer. These little balloons can be annoying. Fortunately, you can make them stop appearing.

• Vista

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and then "Control Panel."

2. Click "Security" and then click "Security Center."

3. Click the link for "Change the way Security Center alerts me."

4. Click "Don't notify me and don't display the icon" to stop the security alerts from appearing. Exit out of the Security Center.
