How to Add a Clip Art Image in Microsoft Word

Clip art refers to pre-made graphics images. Such images can add pizzazz to a document. Microsoft Word includes an option for adding clip art when you want to jazz up a file or complement your writing. Word can check its collection of included clip art and also gives you the option of checking Office Online.

Instructions

    • 1

Position the cursor where you want to insert the clip art.

    • 2

      Click the "Insert" tab.

    • 3

Click "Clip Art" in the Illustrations grouping.

    • 4

Type the topic for which you want clip art in the Search For box. Check "Include Office.com content" if you want to search there. If not, click the drop-down arrow in the Results Should Be box and check "Illustrations, Photographs, Videos, or Audio." Checking Office.com content can take longer than limiting the search.

    • 5

      Click the "Go" button.

    • 6

Click to select the clip art you want to use in the list of results.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can adjust the size of the clip art after inserting it in Word by clicking it and dragging and corner.
