1
Wash, dry and hull firm, ripe strawberries. To hull a strawberry, remove the top portion containing the stem and leaves. Cut out any soft spots.
-
2
With a thin, sharp knife, slice the strawberries into slices no thicker than one-quarter inch.
-
-
3
Arrange the strawberry slices in a single layer on the dehydrator trays. Don't let the edges overlap.
-
4
If you don't have a dehydrator, arrange the slices on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and place it in the sun.
-
5
Let the slices dry until they are dry to the touch and pliable. They shouldn't be hard or crisp. Store in an airtight container or zippered plastic bag.

Cool - good way to have them year round. Have you ever dehydrated figs? Wonder if you would do them the same way ?
