Working at home can be challenging and rewarding all at once. Working at home is not as hard as it seems.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A computer.
  • Some ideas.
  • Some talent.
Step1
Think of what you are good at and enjoy doing. If you can sew well, make dog beds at home. You can also sew some unique medical scrubs at home. Those are two things that I know sell well. There are probably countless others that you can look into. Make a website to make buying easy for customers and be sure to advertise.
Step2
If you live in a big city, think about pet sitting. There are many books in the bookstore that are specifically about petsitting. I also have another article detailing the steps to become a pet sitter. You can take care of animals in the owner's home while still making money.

The reason pet sitters don't profit much in smaller towns is they usually have closer relationships with the community and have many known, trusted people to pet sit for free or little charge.
Step3
Go to ratracerebellion.com. They have many legit working at home positions. They have new jobs added daily, as well as jobs divided by category. They also help you spot scams that are online.
Step4
You can get a small amount of money by selling things on e-bay or Craigslist. The fees on e-bay are sometimes not worth the hassle. You should use e-bay as a way to draw people to your company webpage for future purchases. Name brand jeans and purses sell well. Research other items that you may be trying to sell. See what they are going for and if it's worth your time.
Step5
If you enjoy animals, you can also consider dog grooming. You can devote a section of your house to the dog grooming. You can leave business cards at vet offices and around town. People will pay a lot of money for their pets. Be sure to check with your local laws to find out about business licenses and health information you must follow.
Step6
If you like children, you can have an in home daycare. You will need to get licensed through the state in which you live. You can also be a tutor if you are qualified to do so.
Step7
If you like flowers and know how to arrange them well, you may open up a florist business. You will need to get a business license and check on the competition in your area.
Step8
If you are trained with a beauty school degree, you can work from your home. You can keep part of your home as your salon. When work is over, you will already be home.
Step9
Talk with local businesses to see if anyone needs an appointment setter. Insurance companies like to do annual insurance and financial reviews. They could save their time by hiring you as a contractor.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't get discouraged. Many small businesses fail each year. It may take a few ideas before you find your perfect business.
  • Be very careful of any scams online or through ads.
  • Make sure you have a quiet part of your home for work. It must be free of distractions from kids, partners, and animals.
  • You may work longer hours with less pay by working from home. Be sure you do your research before quitting your regular job. It is best to do your at home business part-time while you're still working to see how it will work out.
  • Do not go for any MLM scam like Mary Kay or Avon. You will lose more money than you will make. You can check out pinktruth.com for details.
