Things You'll Need:
- Items from the dollar store such as:
- large clay pot
- a rain gauge
- trowel
- mini rake
- pruning shears
- spray nozzle for hose
- garden gloves
- nail brush
- fly swatter
- garden markers
- citronella candle
- packets of flower and vegetable seeds
- raffia
- newspaper or tissue paper
- acrylic paint (optional)
-
Step 1
Go to your local dollar store and find a large clay pot . If the dollar store doesn't have one, you can buy one at a garden center. You can either paint the pot in bright colors or leave it terra cotta if you choose.
-
Step 2
Stuff the pot half full with crumpled newspaper or tissue. Arrange the listed items in the pot as shown in the picture.
Tie several strands of raffia around the pot just below the lip at the top. -
Step 3
Give as a gift and listen to the oohs and aahs!

on 10/4/2008 I do this all the time for my little girl's friend's parties. Cute little games, purses, cosmetics, hair accessories, notebooks, etc, placed in a cute gift bag or basket ...it's always a hit. Never thought of a garden one, but it's definately a new weapon in my gift giving arsenal...thanks!
