mosquitos are one of the biggest for summertime fun in the sun. Learn a few tricks to keep them away from your skin!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Along with dressing in long-sleeved shirts, pants and socks, there is a homemade remedy that will help deter mosquito bites. Eat plenty of spaghetti that's heavy on the garlic sauce. Garlic, when ingested by eating foods or taking tablets, can help make your blood less attractive to female mosquitoes.

  2. Step 2

B1 Vitamins (Thiamine) are another homemade remedy to keep mosquitoes away. Taking B1 supplements helps your body metabolize carbohydrates and fats and turns them into energy. If you can ingest about 25 to 50 milligrams of Thiamine three times a day, it will make your body produce an odor but not the kind that humans can smell. Just female mosquitoes and they hate it!

You need to take Vitamin B1 for two full weeks before they kick into effect as an effective mosquito repellent.

  3. Step 3

This last one is kind of hard to stomach but it works! Rub apple cider vinegar on your skin or take vinegar capsules. You need to drink two tablespoons of vinegar every day for this to work. If you can't stomach the idea of taking it straight, mix it in a few ounces of cold water and drink it down that way. This will surely protect you from those bloodsucking pesky insects!

on 7/22/2008 I think I'll try the Vitamin B1 idea. Plus, it could help my body burn fat! Yeah, two for one deal, I love it!
