How to make eggs in a basket

A nice simple little breakfast that tastes great.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• A stove or fire
• A skillet or frying pan
• A spatulla of some kind
• Bread of your choice
• Eggs
• Butter
• Syrup / optional
• A glass or cookie cutter

1. 
    
   Select the bread

   Preparing eggs in a basket is like making french toast and eggs at the same time.
   First select which bread you are going to use and lay it on a plate. Most people use a small glass or a small cookie cutter to cut the center out of the bread. You can use the center cut out to feed the birds or pets or what ever. I prefer to eat it myself.

   Flip it

   Lightly spread some butter on both sides of the bread and place it into the skillet on medium heat. When one side is starting to brown flip the bread over. At this point crack and egg and drop it into the hole in the bread.

3. 
    
   Simple quick meal

   After about 30 to 45 seconds flip the bread back over and cook for another 20 to 30 seconds and remove. Wa La EGGS IN A BASKET

Tips & Warnings

• Try adding syrup or some fresh fruit
• This dish can be made like french toast also mixing the eggs with milk, stirring and dipping the bread in and cooking.
• If you are worried about the buttter then try the french toast method and use olive oil or a good non-stick pan.
• You may also want to use non fat milk and sugar free syrup
