Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- The desire to buy green back to school items.
Step1
Shop smart. If you already have something that works, is it really green to by something new (even if you are buying green.) For example if you already have a calculator, a back pack and pens that will work, why buy more?
Step2
Buy in bulk through the internet. Sometimes it is hard to find good deals on earth friendly school supplies because local business may not carry it or they may have a major mark up. If you do not need allot of supplies talk to people in your child's school and in your community about going together and buying whole sell.
Step3
Check out the retail chain Staples, Office Max, and Office Depot that have pledged to keep give green choices to their customers.
Step4
Buying green can be a little more expensive in the short term but in the end it is worth it. If you can not find or have the budget to buy all earth friendly products, it is okay every little bit counts.
Step5
Most stores carry non-toxic crayons, glue, and markers in the kids section at costs comparable to back to school items. They may have a more expensive brand in the back to school area.
