Things You'll Need:
- Fresh or frozen fish (I like Halibut or MahiMahi)
- Knife
- Veggies: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Asparagus, Mushrooms - anything you like.
-
Step 1
Rinse your veggies and your fish. Dry the fish on a paper towel.
-
Step 2
Chop the veggies into big chunks. Put them into your heated steamer pan. Thicker veggies go closest to the bottom (like cauliflower). Lighter veggies, like asparagus, go towards the top and cook mre quickly (thus should be removed faster or added after a few minutes of the other veggies cooking).
-
Step 3
Add the fish in after about 4-5 minutes cooking time. Place it on top of all the other veggies. Sprinkle it with salt & pepper.
-
Step 4
Prepare a simple sauce if you'd like. I like to use rice vinegar and olive oil with a little wasabi mayonnaise. I add in chopped green onions and a clove of fresh garlic. Stir it MADLY with a whisk. You can use Soy Sauce with a little sugar and garlic as well.
-
Step 5
Check fish for doneness with a fork. Don't overcook it! It should be light and flaky.
-
Step 6
Spoon veggies and fish onto a plate or bowl and after whipping the sauce once more, pour a little sauce on while everything is still hot. It is also DELICIOUS to eat without anything at all other than salt & pepper.
