How to reset an iPod

If your iPod has frozen up, there are a few easy steps you can take to get it back in working condition.

Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

1. Toggle the hold/lock switch. Doing this a few times will occasionally free up a minor freeze.

2. Hold down the menu button for at least 7 seconds. If it doesn't display the logo by 10-12 seconds, this method will not work.

3. Next, try plugging your iPod into a power source, or into your computer's USB source.

4. Try pressing (and holding) the select button (the middle, circular button) for at least 6 or 7 seconds.

• When holding down buttons, lay your iPod on a flat surface.
