Things You'll Need:
- computer
- small amount of money if you would like to subscribe with one of the barter websites
- goods, skills or services that you can trade
-
Step 1
Think of goods or services that you would like to trade/barter. Assess the value of your goods or services.
-
Step 2
Now, think of what you want or need that matches the value of your goods or services. Ideally, the value of goods or services should match or similar to the other goods/services to be exchanged. But you may also negotiate goods/services of different values. If you currently cannot decide on what you would like to receive in exchange, you may browse through the services/items listed on the bartering websites.
-
Step 3
Check out different barter websites online. There are free and paid barter sites out there.
-
Step 4
Go to the Barter website of your choice and register to become a member.
-
Step 5
Search the goods or services you want to barter or trade.
-
Step 6
Post your goods or services that you want to barter or trade.
-
Step 7
Once you have found a barter match, make a trade offer for the goods or services you want. Take time to research more about the goods/services being offered by the other party. If both parties agree to accept the offer, discuss about the delivery method or how the service will be performed. Use a contract so you can put all the details of your arrangement and at the same time to formalize the barter deal in writing to avoid misunderstandings or confusion.
