How to Make Powdered Laundry Detergent

This easy recipe will save you at least 90% on store-bought detergent! And when using this detergent, there's no need to add fabric softener.

Things You'll Need:

• 1 cup grated Fels Naptha Soap, grated
• 1/2 cup Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda
• 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
• Grater
• Airtight bag or container with lid

1. Grate 1 cup grated Fels Naptha Soap into an airtight container or bag.

2. Add 1/2 cup Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda, and 1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax.

3. For light loads use 2 tablespoons, for heavier loads use 3-4. Add to water, then load clothes.

Tips & Warnings

• To make a large batch, grate 6 bars of Naptha, and add 3 cups Washing Soda and 3 cup Borax.
• This soap is great for persons with sensitivities to laundry detergent.
• Fabric softener is not necessary with this recipe.
• Wash clothes as directed on labels.
