Are you embarrassed when you have to show your driver's license photo? We all have pictures that aren't flattering. Fortunately, there are ways to make sure the next picture you take is more favorable. Here's how to look better in photos.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Avoid heavy makeup.

Instead of using a heavy, oily foundation, try a light brush-on mineral based makeup. These foundations reflect the light and give a more flattering look.

  2. Step 2

    Hold your chin up.

Because most people have a tendency towards excess fat under the chin and laxity, lift your head slightly when staring into the camera. This will help to draw up the skin under your chin and neck and make your neck look slimmer.

  3. Step 3

    Watch your positioning.

Never approach the camera straight on. This tends to make you look heavier. You'll look leaner if you turn to the side.

  4. Step 4

    Wear dark colors.

Dark colors tend to be more slimming than light colors in photographs. If you want to look better in photos, watch what you wear.

  5. Step 5

Become comfortable in front of the camera.

Learn to relax when you're faced with the camera lens. When you try to pose a certain way, you end up looking stilted and unnatural.

  6. Step 6

    Eliminate facial shine.

Always carry powder with you before your picture is to be taken. This will help to reduce facial shine which can ruin an otherwise nice photo.
