Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Some guests
- Moroccan or World Music
- Food
- Dishes, silverware, etc.
- Tableclothes
- Low Table
- Large Floor Pillows
Step1
Decorate Your Space -- This is crucial to any theme party. The idea is to bring Morocco to your guests. Transform your dining room into a tent with yards of jewel-toned tulle fabric. For a low table, you can use a large coffee table, or set a folding table (with the legs folded up) on top of some cinder blocks.
Step2
Set Your Table -- Set the table with jewel-toned tablecloths and cloth napkins. You can decorate the table with gold-foiled wrapped coins, and metal lanterns. Use large floor pillows for chairs. Don't forget place cards so guests know exactly where to sit.
Step3
The Menu -- Sandra Lee from Semi-Homemade Cooking did a Moroccan theme show with great ideas for a menu. You can find recipes on the Food Networks website. Leg of lamb, carrot salad, couscous, and fresh fruit for dessert work very well.
Step4
The Music -- This really brings the entire theme to life. Putumayo has an excellent selection of world music CDs, and you may be able to borrow some of them from your local library.
