Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Group Together?? Why not share with another family some larger properties on this website are able to cater up to 16 people in one large house. Browse through our large range of houses on www.bookityourself.com.au/properties also you can share costs like food and car pooling.

  2. Step 2

Fill up your car in a capital city instead of a country town, statistics show that capital city fuel prices are generally cheaper. Country towns need there fuel trucked to them hence the reason why they are so expensive.

  3. Step 3

Work out a holiday budget. Just as you would do at home, plan an itinerary, purchase necessary tickets and car hire, factor in food & entertainment. Plan for a rainy day and try and stick to your budget!!!

  4. Step 4

Buy Theme tickets & tours in advance, they are sometimes up to $10 cheaper. Check out www.bookityourself.com.au/extras

Tips & Warnings
  • Walk - Sounds fun, but no truly it is and cheap to do. When you book accommodation most of them are within walking distance to beaches and shops, so save the fuel & get fit by walking around instead of driving.
  • Buy Alcohol in Bulk - for the adults, there a lots of specialty bulk liquor stores around (quite abit on the Gold Coast) that sells cheaper alcohol, but if you cant get to one take advantage of BWS where you can buy 5 wines and get the 6th one free
  • Make sure your car in properly maintained, this is a no brainer but having your tyres properly inflated and oil, water & engine check before you go will save you time and money in the long run.
