Make Strawberry Banana Buttermilk Pancakes

These are delicious. I used to just make blueberry buttermilk pancakes, which then turned to chocolate chip banana walnut buttermilks pancakes and now i make strawberry banana buttermilk pancakes!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup strawberry slices
  • 1/2 cup banana slices
  • griddle/skillet/electric griddle
  • bowl
  • spoon/whisk
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  1. Step 1

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

  2. Step 2

Beat the eggs into the buttermilk and melted butter in a separate bowl.

  3. Step 3

Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Pancake batter is supposed to be lumpy.

In a separate little bowl, combine the cut up pieces of strawberry and banana

  4. Step 4

Put some butter in the skillet/griddle/electric griddle that should be over medium heat.

  5. Step 5

Take as much or as little batter as you want and spoon it onto the heated surface.

Sprinkle the top of the pancake with the strawberry-banana mixture

  6. Step 6

Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the amount of bubbles forming on the top of the pancake increases. This means it's time to flip. Once done, serve with butter, syrup, whipped cream, or peanut butter.

on 8/17/2009 A great tip is to use the g-Spout a new kitchen gadget! Its wonderful for pouring perfect pancakes, muffins and cupcakes. No more drips and baked on batter. We even love using it to strain off that yucky grease from bacon... http://www.g-Spout.com
