After running the engine for a few minutes, to warm it up, turn it off and pop the hood.
Step2
Squeeze the latch to allow the hood to be lifted.
Step3
You can find the dipstick easily because it will be stick up out of the engine and usually has a colored loop on the end of the stick.
Step4
Pull out the entire dip stick and wipe it completely clean with a paper towel.
Step5
Put the dipstick all the way back into the slot you pulled it from and remove it again.
Step6
At the end of the dipstick, you should see markings of the desired oil level. If it is really low then more oil will be needed. If it is only slightly low then only add a little bit of oil.
Step7
If oil is needed you can add oil by unscrewing the oil cap. The cap is located at the top of the engine. You should be able to find it rather quickly and easily.
Step8
Continue to check the dipstick until the level of oil is at the desired marking on the stick. Make sure the dipstick is fully inserted back into its slot and the oil cap is securely tightened.
