If you own or manage rental property its almost a given some one close to you will ask you to rent to them. Its also almost certain that it will end up being a mistake .

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • assertiveness
  • the abilty to say no
  • A good excuse

Step1
When you are approached with the question "will you rent to me " be straight forward tell them No. Dont give the runaround.
Step2
Be honest explain to them you dont rent to friends or family because it almost never works out . tell them that you have tried it in the past and it has failed everytime then you can give them the name of another company they can try.
Step3
If being straight forward and being honest dosent work. Thats when you could just lie (but only as a last resort). Some people just dont take no for an answer tell them you already accepted a deposit from someone else or they didnt qualify and the bank wont let you rent to them.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be strong dont let anyone bully you
  • just remember Friends family and fish all stink after 3 days
