Flipping dog houses might at first seem like a ridiculous idea. However, flipping dog houses can become a useful and perhaps profitable endeavor. Here are some helpful tips to organize and launch a dog house flipping business.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy cheap dog houses to restore and flip. Advertise in newspapers that you will buy people's old dog houses. Make agreements with pet cemeteries and pet hospitals to help people who no longer have pets by removing their old dog house. Agree to take them at no cost to the dog house owners or pay them a nominal fee.

  2. Step 2

Inspect the dog house. Typically, an old dog house ends up being just a shell of a small structure. Look for insects, damage and chipped paint.

  3. Step 3

Make improvements to the dog house by stripping the old paint, priming the wood and adding a fresh coat of paint. Add visual appeal by adding little doggy windows. Cut holes in the house and add a piece of plastic. Ensure that you secure any additions to the house because some dogs will try to chew on anything.

  4. Step 4

Advertise that you offer good deals on restored dog houses. Describe that the people who buy from you will give a second chance to an old dog house that once belonged to a deceased dog.

  5. Step 5

Flip the restored dog house and make a profit. Offer to deliver the dog house to the new owner for an additional fee. If you can get enough business, flipping dog houses could be a rather lucrative opportunity.
