Eco-friendly parties are better for the environment than traditional parties. Make your party "green" and reduce waste. Send electronic invitations, serve the food on reusable dishes and avoid decorations that create waste. Plan a menu of delicious eco-friendly foods the guests will enjoy and serve eco-friendly drinks.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Organic watermelon
  • Vodka
  • Organic apples
  • Glasses
  1. Step 1

Make refreshing cocktails from fresh, organic produce. Buy in-season produce at a local farmers market. During summer, use organic, seedless watermelon. Scoop the meat out of the watermelon, freeze it and blend it with vodka for a perfect, eco-friendly party beverage. During fall, use fresh, organic apples. Extract the juice with a juicer and add vodka to make apple martinis.

  2. Step 2

Serve organic wines at an eco-friendly party. Organic wines are completely chemical and pesticide free and do not hurt the environment during their production. There are many choices when it comes to organic wines: Frog's Leap and Bonterra are two widely available brands.

  3. Step 3

Buy locally brewed beers and wines from local wineries. When you buy locally, you help the environment by reducing fuel waste during shipping. Locate local breweries through BrewPubZone. Find local wineries through All American Wineries (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Serve drinks in reusable glasses. Avoid paper and plastic products and reduce waste by using glasses that can be used many times.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have enough reusable stemware for an eco-friendly party, purchase additional stemware from a thrift shop. Buying used products reduces excessive waste and overconsumption.
