Shabby chic is a design style that comes and goes out of fashion regularly. You can be safe in buying anything that is shabby chic because for many people, it is always in style. The furniture in this style is sometimes painted white, it borders on antique, but not quite. It looks beat up, but classy. Use a few of these tips to buy a shabby chic bakers rack.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Measure the area where you will put the bakers rack. They come in a wide variety of sizes and, especially if you are ordering online, you don't want to purchase something that is too large for the spot.

  2. Step 2

Consider your other styles of furniture that will be in the same room with the shabby chic look. It is very distinctive and can overwhelm a room if it is too large or too white to go with the other furniture. Plain or painted woods go nicely with shabby chic bakers racks, as do upholstered chairs in country or flowered designs.

  3. Step 3

Decide how you want to use your baker's rack before you shop too. If you are getting into wine, then look for one with a built-in wine rack to show off your collections. This style is very popular right now, as wine is developing a growing audience of hobbyists.

  4. Step 4

Many major stores, like Target, also carry bakers racks for purchase.

  5. Step 5

Use your shabby chic bakers rack to display collections of vintage dishes or glassware. Doilies and other antique accessories also display nicely on a shabby chic rack. Bakers racks can be used in a variety of rooms so you can display or organize different items with more flexibility than a shelf.
