Things You'll Need:
- Tape measure
- Thin leather or vinyl
- Scissors
- Sewing machine and thread
-
Step 1
Measure the length, width and depth of your folded Backgammon board. Add 1 inch all the way around to each measurement for seam allowances.
-
Step 2
Purchase the appropriate amount of thin leather or vinyl to make your carrying case.
-
Step 3
Use the measurements to cut the pieces for the bag. Cut 2 pieces that are the same size, the length and width measurements, for the front and back of the bag. Add 4 inches and cut one more piece for the front flap. Cut one strip that is 4 inches by 24 inches for the carrying strap.
-
Step 4
Sew, with right sides together, the front and back of the carrying case. Stitch all along the bottom edge. Pull the bottom corners out to make a 2-inch triangle and stitch across to reinforce the inside corners of the bag. With right sides together, sew the flap onto the top edge of the back of the carrying case.
-
Step 5
Stitch down the edge of the corners starting from the top of the bag about 1/2-inch from the edge all the way to the bottom to give the bag shape and strength.
-
Step 6
Fold the strap in half lengthwise and sew the whole length of it. Attach either end to the opposite sides of the carrying case. Backstitch to make it stronger.
