How to Approach a Group of Girls

Talking to a girl you like is one thing, but starting a conversation with one when she's with a group of friends is another. Use a few simple strategies to build your confidence, break the ice and make a good impression when you approach the pack.

Instructions

1. Display your sense of humor. Crack a joke when the girls are within earshot or tell a self-deprecating story that will make them laugh and feel more comfortable around you.

2. Make meaningful eye contact with the girl you're interested in, smile and be approachable. If she likes you, she may talk to you on her own.

3. Bring along one of your best platonic girl friends. She can make her way over, talk to the girls, vouch for what a great guy you are and then introduce you to the group.

4. Approach them as part of a group of guys. Although your friends will make you more self-assured, try not to be so overconfident that the girls write you off as obnoxious before you show them your true personality.

5. Try to break the girl you're interested in away from the group. Walk straight up to her and tune the others out (so they won't intimidate you) and ask to talk to her for a minute. Once you get to know her a little, she'll be able to introduce you to her friends.

6. Attempt the "can you settle an argument I'm having with my friend" ploy. When you have the girls' attention, ask them a question about a recent movie or popular television show. If any of the girls are interested, they'll find a way to continue the conversation.
