Get ready to gross out your guests when they see a big tray full of eerie eyeballs. Eerie eyeballs are slightly slimy, very creepy and absolutely perfect for your next Halloween party. And, once the squeamishness passes, they're actually sweet and delicious treats.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup water
  • Medium saucepan
  • 3 oz. lime gelatin
  • 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup frozen lemonade, thawed
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • Melon baller
  • Waxed paper
  • Food color (black and blue and/or brown)
  • Small paint brush with fine tip
  1. Step 1

Bring the water to boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, and stir in the lime gelatin until it dissolves. Add the miniature marshmallows and continue stirring until they melt.

  2. Step 2

Remove the saucepan from the heat, and beat in the softened cream cheese and lemonade.

  3. Step 3

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then fold in the mayonnaise.

  4. Step 4

Put the mixture in the refrigerator to chill until it's firm. Then use a melon baller to scoop out round eyeball shapes. Set the eerie eyeballs on a large piece of waxed paper to decorate.

  5. Step 5

Use a small paint brush and the food coloring to paint a small black pupil and round blue or brown iris on each eerie eyeball.

  6. Step 6

Put the eerie eyeballs in a large platter or tray, looking up.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have several round ice cube trays, they work great for eerie eyeballs. Just spray them with non-stick cooking spray, fill them with eerie eyeball mixture, and pop them in the refrigerator to firm up.
