How to Become a Wii Tennis Pro

One of the most popular Wii games is the tennis game, which you can play by yourself or up to three other players plus yourself. The level of play is determined by your skill points that you accumulate by playing tennis. With some practice, and a few tips, you can reach a skill level of 1,000 to become a Wii tennis pro in no time.

Difficulty: Moderate

1. Choose a level of difficulty when setting up the game. There are five levels, ranging in difficulty. The first two are very simple, the third level has a player who loves playing the net, the fourth's player hates playing the net, and the fifth level's player is very difficult to defeat. It takes pure skill to defeat this pro-type player.
2. Have the front player hit the tennis ball, no matter what, if playing doubles. If you don't, the back player may hit it or miss it, but the computer's front player most likely can get the ball past you. When you reach higher skill levels, it's unlikely to obtain points from your back player.
3. Attempt power serves. Start your down swing moments before the tennis ball reaches the top of the toss. This can take several practice tries before you can serve it correctly. Ultimately the power serve can overpower your opponent.
4. Position yourself correctly when hitting a forehand or backhand. These shots can actually change the position of the tennis ball, so you want to make sure you're facing the right way, otherwise the ball can end up in the stands.
5. Tire your opponent. If you initiate a long rally, this can tire your opponent, causing the player to sweat and become fatigued. The player can oftentimes miss and over-hit on certain shots, allowing you to capitalize and work your way up to pro quicker.

Tips & Warnings

• If you're able to tire your opponent, keep in mind that they player is fatigued for the entire game, not the entire match.
• The number of spectators sitting on your side is based upon your skill level. The higher your level, the more fans you have cheering for you.
• Don't consistently play the net. Playing close to the net doesn't provide accuracy, ultimately causing you to hit the ball out of bounds.
