How to Become a Krav Maga Instructor

Krav Maga is one of the fastest growing forms of self-defense in the world. Krav Maga combines military hand-to-hand combat with other forms of self-defense and uses real life situations to train people to defend themselves. If a person were to become a Krav Maga instructor there are several items which are prerequisites to taking an official Krav Maga trainers course.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Have a minimum of four years training in another fighting discipline. This discipline should include punching and fighting skills like those taught in boxing and kickboxing.

  2. Step 2

    Be in excellent physical condition because the Krav Maga instructor training course is very physically rigorous. In fact, some courses require a person to pass a minimum physical endurance exam prior to course enrollment.

  3. Step 3

    Obtain a recommendation from another Krav Maga instructor, police officer or other law enforcement official. The person that refers you must vouch for physical and mental toughness.

  4. Step 4

    Possess no criminal record in your history. If you have any criminal arrest or issues, you will not be able to become a Krav Maga instructor.

  5. Step 5

    Get the approval of the local director of the Krav Maga chapter. This is not applicable to all areas but in some area, this is required prior to enrolling in a Krav Maga instructor training course.

  6. Step 6

    Enroll and complete the local Krav Maga instructor training course. The course usually contains 180 hours of training and lasts over the course of three months.
