How to Become a LaVeyan Satanist

LaVeyan Satanism is a religion based on the philosophies of Anton Szandor LaVey, who founded The Church of Satan in 1966. The basic belief is that Satan represents personal freedom and individualism. A key point of LaVeyan Satanism is that it's actually an atheistic religion and members don't worship Satan. It's more about self-gratification and exploring yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Research the different kinds of Satanism. A few types, aside from LaVeyan Satanism, include Traditional Satanism (known by other names as well), Rebel Satanism and Modern Satanism. Know the key differences, as some denominations worship Satan and others do not.

    • 2

Visit the Church of Satan's website and read about the theories and practices of LeVeyan Satanists. Pick up a copy of LaVey's "The Satanic Bible" to learn more about the belief system. Make sure this is something you can dedicate yourself to.

    • 3

Fill out and mail in the Registration Statement from the Church of Satan's website and pay the membership fee to become a member of the Church. You will then receive a card saying you're a registered member. No further dues are required.

    • 4

Decide if you'd like to become an Active Member of the Church and send in the Active Membership Application, along with a current photograph, if you so desire. There's no fee for this, and it allows you to take a more active role in the Satanic community.

Tips & Warnings

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to register as a member of the Church.

  • To legally represent yourself as a LeVeyan Satanist, you must be registered with the Church and be able to produce your membership card if asked.

Satanists seem to be more smarter than most Christians because of the fact that they don't believe in fairytales because their is no proof of them being real..People that believe in fairytales are either nuts or a running from the truth which by the way the latter is what most mainstream people run from because it terrifies them! Good day!

Not everyone believes in the concept of sin. People also have a right to choose to worship however they see fit, without anyone else telling them otherwise.

satanism is satanism you still are worshipping something other than God where your worship needs to be. Worshipping your self is the same as worshipping satan. It's still sin and putting a god (yourself) before Him.
