Vegas visitors can get free meals for gambling, or they can use coupons the casinos give away.

From Quick Guide: Restaurants in Las Vegas
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

    Getting Started

  1. Step 1

Call the casino/hotel where you will be staying and ask if it offers its guests funbooks. Call other casino/hotels and ask if they offer funbooks for players.

  2. Step 2

    Consult the "Las Vegas Advisor."

  3. Step 3

Use free meal coupons whenever possible.

  4. In the Casino

  5. Step 1

Go to the promotions booth whenever you decide to play at a particular casino.

  6. Step 2

Fill out and turn in an application for a player's card.

  7. Step 3

    Pick up the card.

  8. Step 4

Present the card whenever you play at a table game, or insert it in the card reader whenever you play at a machine.

  9. Step 5

Request a meal comp at the desired restaurant after playing for at least 1 hour. Give your player's card to the pit boss or promotions desk clerk while doing so.

Tips & Warnings
  • You will acquire comp points for casino play. The more you bet, the more food comps you are entitled to.
  • Comps are the complimentary, or free, items given to a player by the casino as an incentive to remain in the casino and continue playing. Comps are usually rooms, meals, show tickets or transportation.
  • Don't hesitate to ask for a free meal if you have been playing for some time. Remember that you are in a casino.

on 2/7/2009 There's very little of free anything in Las Vegas anymore - it's just a giant suckhole of cash.

on 10/11/2008 The best way that I have found how to eat free and get into the best clubs was to participate in a timeshare presentation. You will have to be married (or go with someone with the same last name and pretend to be married) and sit down for 2-3 hours and watch some boring presentation but its worth it if your broke. I've gone to the buffet at Circus Circus (wasn't that good) I've seen Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and LL Cool J in VIP at the hottest clubs and I've gone to comedy shows. Some ppl i met even got a free trip to Vegas just to participate in the presentation.

on 6/30/2008 I've worked in Las Vegas hotels for the last 32 years,(now retired) the last 17 years at Caesars Palace and recently the Venetian, as a floor supervisor and Pit Manager. Comps are now generated by a computer matrix based on time played and average bet. Your history with that casino is also thrown in. I can tell you that $5 to about $15 per bet for an hour will not get you free anything. If you kept playing you might qualify for the buffet(Venetian doesn't have one) or coffee shop. To qualify for a room or one of the gourmet rooms you need to be betting minium $100-$200 hand for at least 2-3 hours, if not more. In which case it would cost less if you just went and bought it yourself. I don't know how the other casinos work but in the higher echelon ones this is the case.(Wynn, Belagio, MGM, Caesars, Venetian, Palazzo, Mandalay Bay, Mirage etc.) Each one having their own criteria

on 11/22/2005 The Bellagio has one of the best buffets in town. It can be expensive, but here is what you can do: Get to the buffet around 3:30 pm (for the end of the lunch buffet). Eat a little bit of the lunch buffet and then play some Keno until they bring out the dinner buffet around 4:30 pm. If you have the time to do this, you can get a great assortment of foods and eat cheaply at the Bellagio.

on 11/22/2005 Hotels and casinos in Vegas cater to those who spend money, and they treat them well. The trick is to register and use your card if you're a gambler. Others - like me - get stuck in the distant, second-class rooms while you get the perks.
