  • Some stores will accept returns without receipts, especially if the item returned was a gift.
  • "I decided I don't like it" is a perfectly acceptable excuse for returning an item.
  • Keep all receipts for at least a month after you make a purchase. This will make returning easier.
  • Many stores only offer store credit for returns, and some do not accept returns on sale items. Check store policy before you buy.
  • Used items may not be accepted for return.

on 6/30/2009 Riofy: In most locales, of course the vendor has the right to refuse returns. Especially if your stinky bare feet have been wearing them.

More to the point, this eHow represents exactly what I don't like about eHow.com: this entry is facile to the point of being an insult.

Honestly, "How to return something to a store?" Are you kidding me?

Create a separate site called eHowForTheMentallyChallenged.com , and put junk like this over there. I generally like eHow.com, but simple-minded entries such as this are all-too-common and annoying.

on 9/16/2008 I bought this billabong flipflops in one store here in dubai, because i like it very much though i will have a financial suicide if i will do so, but this did not stop me from buying the flipflops. After buying, i decided to wear the flipflops, but after 30 minutes of walking in the mall, my feet hurts because of the metal on it and i wanted to return the flipflops or replace it with another, but the store supervisor refuses to accept it? Does they have the right to refuse of the return?
