on 11/28/2008 I am going to guess this editor has never danced socially. I am also guessing they have no concept of the rudeness of "cutting in" at a formal dance.

on 11/22/2005 If you want to cut in, do so. Have fun, be yourself, and be polite.

on 11/22/2005 My tip for cutting in: don't do it! If I'm dancing with a woman, why would I want a guy cutting in? What if I didn't want him to cut in? What if she didn't him to do that? What if that woman is my wife or girlfriend? Cutting in is rude and disrespectful.

on 11/22/2005 Wait until the person notices you. Give him or her a slight glance to convey the idea that you'd like to cut in. Ask politely to dance; be polite! If accepted, thank the partner for letting you cut in.
