-
Step 1
Wash or dry-clean your linens thoroughly before storing them to prevent mold growth. Stains will easily mold if they go unchecked.
-
Step 2
Brush off any mold you find on your linens outside so the spores do not land on fresh linen. Soak linens in bleach and water before washing to remove any excess mold.
-
Step 3
Rinse linens thoroughly of all soap to prevent spotting.
-
Step 4
Place linens in a cool, dark, dry closet or other area in your house.
-
Step 5
Roll up linens as you store them so they keep their shape and color.
-
Step 6
Store linens in cotton, linen or muslin if using a garment bag. These natural fibers will breathe well and will not stain your linens.
-
Step 7
Try using acid-free tissue paper if you wish to separate your linens. Regular tissue paper stains.
-
Step 8
Rotate your linens every six months to keep them fresh.
