Healthy, fast and fat-free, the strawberry smoothie is a perfect choice when berries are in season. This recipe serves four.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Wash and hull strawberries.

  2. Step 2

    Put strawberries, honey and water into a blender.

  3. Step 3

    Add crushed ice.

  4. Step 4

    Blend until smooth; pour into tall glass and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add some lemonade or a small amount of lemon juice if the drink is too sweet.
  • Add 1 tbsp. blackstrap molasses to boost your iron intake.
  • Add 1 tbsp. brewer's yeast to increase the protein in the drink.
  • Add 1 tbsp. flaxseed oil if you need more omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Add 1 tsp. bee pollen for extra amino acids.
  • Some people are allergic to bee pollen or other add-ins. Follow package directions carefully or consult your doctor if you have questions.

on 11/22/2005 If you want, you can make a strawberry banana smoothie. It's exactly the same recipe, only you slice up half a banana and throw it in there. That's what I did and it tastes great.

on 11/22/2005 Take some strawberries and one banana; add more of whichever flavor you want to be stronger. Chop the tops off the berries. Then cut the banana into 1/2" pieces. Drop berries and bananas into blender. Add ice. Blend until smooth. Serve.
