How to Make Hot Mulled Cider in a Crock-Pot

Nothing takes off an autumn or winter chill like hot mulled cider. This recipe is especially easy to prepare and practically cooks itself. Serves six.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 tsp. whole allspice
  • 3 quarts apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp. whole cloves
  • 4 strips orange zest
  • Groceries
  • Crock-Pots
  • Ladles
  • Mesh Tea Balls
  • Zesters
  1. Step 1

    Put brown sugar, cider, orange zest and cinnamon sticks in a Crock-Pot.

  2. Step 2

    Put allspice and whole cloves into a tea strainer and float it in the cider.

  3. Step 3

    Cover.

  4. Step 4

    Cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours.

  5. Step 5

    Serve from the pot using a ladle.

Tips & Warnings
  • If spices get loose, strain the cider before serving.
